Management Team
Francesco Franzese
Founder and Managing Director
Francesco Franzese has over 25 years of experience in investment banking. After graduating from the University of Naples he moved to London to complete a MSc in Financial Economics at the Queen Mary and Westfield College in London.
In 1997 he joined Deutsche Bank’s Structured Credit marketing team. In 1999 he ran Merrill Lynch’s Italian Derivative Solutions team closing, various large cash and synthetic CLOs. He was hired as Senior Managing Director of Bear Stearns in 2004, where he set up the Fixed Income business for Greece, Italy and Spain mainly focusing on structured credit products and illiquid credits.
He joined the Royal Bank of Scotland as the South European Head of Fixed Income business in 2007 where he executed various large balance sheets, Real Estate Sales and Leaseback and Equity Financing transactions.
In 2009 he joined as Senior Advisor FBS, one of the largest Italian Private Non Performing Loans Special Servicer. During his time at FBS, Francesco originated and executed Non Performing Loans portfolios for Credit Hedge Funds and Private Equity Funds for a notional of over € 3 billion.
In 2013 he founded ARAM Capital to fill the void in the Non Performing Exposure advisory business for investors and banks. In 2017 was one of the founding partners of GBV Gestioni which was set up with the sole purpose of NPE investment and Management.
In 2018 he established CIOM RE, a vehicle that invests in distressed Real Estate assets.
Davide Bray
Senior Advisor
Davide Bray has over 27 years of experience at leading investment Banks, originating and selling a wide range of capital market, risk management, corporate finance and asset management products into the Italian market.
He graduated in Law at the University of Turin and then took a postgraduate degree in Economics and Banking at the University of Siena. From 1985 to 2001 he worked with The Chase Manhattan Bank (from 2000 JP Morgan Chase) as a Credit Analyst, Relationship Manager and then Fixed Income and Derivative Sales Manager, taking part in the execution of major transactions in the Italian corporate market.
From 2001 to 2005 he was Managing Director at Prudential Bache Ltd. being seconded at their Asset Management JV BPU Pramerica SGR to head the Institutional Sale.
In 2005 he joined The Royal Bank of Scotland plc as Head of Relationship Management for Financial Institutions, in Italy. In 2012 Davide founded Convexity Srl, an Advisory company focusing on new financing instruments for SMEs. He is currently acting as an Advisor for a regional Fund investing in local SME’s bonds (“minibonds”).
Lorenzo Tombolato
Origination and Capital Markets
Lorenzo is responsible for Origination and Capital Markets and is focused on Italian financial institutions. He has more than twenty years of experience in the financial sector. He graduated with a BA in Banking, Finance and Insurance at the Catholic University of Milan. He joined ARAM Capital from 65 Plus, a company specializing in providing financial services to Italian banks. While at 65 Plus he was Chief Commercial Officer, with responsibilities on relationship management with Italian clients. From 2008 to 2016 Lorenzo worked at The Royal Bank Of Scotland as a relationship manager for Italian Financial Institutions. He took part in significant investment banking mandates both in the equity and the bond sectors. From 2000 to 2008 he worked as Director of ABN AMRO Bond Origination department with responsibilities on origination and execution of Securitization and Bond Issues on the Euromarket for Italian Banks. Before that, Lorenzo spent three years with Deloitte as a Senior Auditor in the Global Financial Services Industry division.
Donato Moriello
Director
Donato Moriello holds a degree in Economics from the University of Naples. In 2008 he joined CE.DI. SISA Centro Sud S.p.A. at financial department. He managed the relationships with banks and factoring companies. He was responsible for the customers’ payment processing and the recovery of unpaid credits mainly through extra-judiciary activity. In 2016 Donato joined Aram Capital focusing mainly on portfolio analysis modelling and pricing of Non Performing Loan Portfolios and Illiquid Credits. In 2018 he was appointed as Head of Portfolio Acquisition working closely with GBV Gestioni and in 2020 Donato was appointed as COO of GBV Gestioni where he is responsible for overseeing the business strategy development and day-to-day management including portfolio management and acquisition.
Antonio Nunziata
Director
Antonio graduated in 2015 in Business and Economics with a specialization in International Markets, at the University of Naples "Parthenope". In 2014 he completed an internship with a primary tax advisory firm in Naples focusing on financial statements analysis and auditing for shipping companies. In 2016 he was hired by ARAM Capital as an analyst focusing mainly on data remediation and management for Non Performing Loan portfolios. In 2018 he was promoted to head the Due Diligence Team. Up to date, he has overseen transactions over 20 bln such as "FINO" and "ARCADE", and the acquisition of illiquid receivables for over 400 mm. Since 2019 he has led the team in charge of the development of Toledo, the very innovative NPE portfolio management tool.
Gabriele Podda
Senior Analyst
Gabriele graduated in Business Economics from the University of Eastern Piedmont "Amedeo Avogadro" in Novara in November 2020 after obtaining two merit scholarships. After completing his studies, Gabriele left Milan to move to the United Kingdom and start his career in the financial services sector. Initially, he worked as a Mortgage Administrator for a British financial intermediary company, where he managed the process of drawing up complex categories of mortgages for investors and international buyers focused on the English Real Estate market. Gabriele then joined ARAM Capital in January 2024, assuming the role of Senior Analyst and focusing his work on the Italian distressed credit market landscape.
